Solo and Ensemble
County Solo Ensemble forms are due January 9.

You have to list your music selection on the form.
We don't want you to scramble to come up with something right after Christmas break-- so it is not too early to start thinking about what to play! A private teacher can help with this.
Everyone can participate in the Solo/Ensemble festival, which is scheduled for Saturday, February 21.
If you do well, you get a medal!

All-County Band:

Audition is January 8 at Central Middle School.
Music for the audition was distributed in September and was used by Mr. Norris for seating auditions.

Upcoming Dates and Events:

Spring Festival Trip
Thursday, May 7-Saturday May 9, 2009
Students will be chosen for Festival Band and Orchestra before the Christmas break
Deposits will be due in January
Total Cost is currently estimated at around $400. The itinerary and costs are still being developed.
We will need many chaperones! Chaperone costs will be less than students, (but unfortunately, not free).

Eighth Grade New York Trip:  May 22

LION KING!
Permission slips have been distributed.
Students go to NYC sightsee, see a show and return in the wee hours
Tara Muscovich is organizing this trip—Thank you Tara!!
 

Toby's dinner theater: 6th and 7th graders.
Dates and show TBA, probably late May.

Rehearsal Schedule

Orchestra

6th grade will rehearse Thursday after school

 7th & 8th grade 7am  Tuesdays (EXCEPT OCT 28)

BAND

Intermediate: Wednesdays after school:

                                2:50-3:30

Advanced:

Thursday morning: 7:OO am before school 

STAGE BAND: TUESDAYS: 2:50-4:00 pm 
AFTER SCHOOL

Stage band still has openings, especially  Sax and Trumpets—See Mr. Norris for details
